C.S. Lewis wrote, “I call upon Him in prayer. Often He might reply (I think He does reply) ‘But you have been evading Me for hours.’”

I often wonder what it is that He wishes to whisper to us in those quite moments that we so often manage to completely miss. It reminds me too, that He often moves and arranges pieces of our lives in such a way so as to make our lives quiet enough to listen to Him. Would we pay attention otherwise?

sometimes our first prayer is, “God, that i would see You clearly …” yet, i wonder that our prayer shouldn’t first be, “God, that i would learn to walk daily in immediate obedience.” and it is often there that we begin to see Him more clearly.

So ... it's been some time since I last posted, eh? Many apologies for the absence. But here we are, making a second attempt.

So what's new? Let me see ....

I finished my first training phase (Discipleship Training School) with Youth With A Mission - Tyler, TX, the end of May. I spent the month of June at home (minus a short trip to Slovakia for a wedding) and have now returned to the YWAM base in TX for the second phase of training (School of Evangelism). I will be here for three months of lecture phase, a month of stateside outreach and then a month of foreign outreach.

I look forward to many hard classes of brain-stretching and mind-bending as we test our worldviews by the authority of Scripture, discerning Truth and listening to the heart of God. Building on the last phase of personal growth and freedom we'll be learning what evangelism is and why missions is so close to the heart of God, how to be effective bearers of His Truth and what the greatest needs are in the world in which we live.

So, I'm still in Texas and will be here until November 12, after which I'll be returning home for a while. Finishing college is the tentative plan for the fall of 2007 ... but we'll see.

Anyhoo ... this is the brief synopsis of the past-collides-with-the-present-careening-into-the-future. And no worries ... I'll be updating now regularly, so come back soon for more entries!
